Happy Thursday! I’m back after celebrating my 12.12.12 birthday yesterday with another studio update.
Yesterday was pretty uneventful. I basically sat around and cleaned up the house to get ready for my family/friends get-together this coming weekend. I had some family over last night for dinner, but nothing major.
What were you doing at 12:12 on 12.12.12? Me? I was sitting in my workshop, working on this puppy…
Not one of my favorite model kits, but it’s kinda cool. You know how much I love mechs and dragons, and this combines the best of both worlds — kinda… Overall, the model is coming together pretty well. It’s been basecoated and I knocked out most of the painting on the wings. The gold trim in the wings is complete. I need to work on the neck and head and do something about the organic parts of the model. Thinking either a dark grey or a pale, dead fleshy color. Not sure yet. I wanna do something nice with the baleflamer and add a little color and contrast in the mouth. Definitely some oranges and some white highlights.
I am working on assembling a Heresy version of the Iron Warriors. I am finishing up assembly of my second Breacher Siege Squad. Ten marines in MkIII Iron armour and Forgeworld boarding kits. I have the first squad assembled, but I am planning to order the urban rubble bases from Dragonforge, so the squad is on hold for the time being… My goal is to have at least 2,000 points by March of next year. I’ll keep you posted!
Warhammer Fantasy Battles
The Dwarfs are taking a bit of time to get completed, but I should be getting back to them soon. My plan is to have my existing army completed by the end of January. Stay tuned for more work in progress images.
I have a couple of squads of World Eaters Berzerkers and Terminators that I need to knock out for a friend. I will stop by Michael’s or AC Moore today and pick up some paint. I wanna get them done before the new year gets here.
I just found out that I will be receiving a new airbrush for Christmas. I will be adding a Grex XG to the arsenal. I have grown used to the Iwata HPC+, so now I get to try another brand and compare notes. I will make an upboxing video and maybe do a review for the airbrush. I kinda don’t like reviews because it’s really based on personal preference, but I may consider. Reviews can be helpful if done properly, I guess.
