STUDIO UPDATE: November 19th, 2012

Happy Monday! I’m a little under the weather today. Kinda dragged through the work day today.

Warhammer 40K: Necrons

Couldn’t wait to get home and get some sleep, but before I did, I decided to knock out a couple of Necron Warriors, while watching the first half of the Monday night game. I already have 20 or so assembled and painted, and I have another 20 or so more to put together. This model is kinda one of my most disliked. I’m not a big fan of the way the arms go together. But that’s just me…

I’ll be happy when I finish these models, then I’ll knock out the box of Immortals and the Destroyer I have sitting on the shelf.

I still have a bunch of detail work to do with my entire army, but I wanna see progress. So I am going to get everything assembled and at least basecoated before I break down and do the detail work. I would at least like to see one of my armies on the table this year with some paint on it…

Warmachine: Retribution

I have been dragging my feet on the rest of my projects. I still have a Retribution Chimera and a Gorgon that need to be assembled and painted. I look forward to getting these completed over the holiday weekend.

I received an email today from Battlefoam. They have finally gotten sick of my requests for a black bag and released pre-release info for a black 1520 XL bag.
I am REALLY excited to see this and I do plan to get one. Unfortunately, it’s not being released until February, so I won’t be able to have my army protected during the zombie apocalypse…

Otaku Tendencies

It’s been a while since I visited the thought of some sexy anime pvc. The local anime convention Katsucon is around the corner and that always stirs up the otaku tendencies in me. I did a little searching and found a couple of models I may like to add to my collection.
The Arshes Nel PVC model is on preorder and is an amazingly attractive model. Something about chicks with pointy ears that gets me every time.
I am also still interested in adding the elusive first Black Rock Shooter figure to the display shelves in the mancave.

Gunpla Goodness

I also have a hankering for some new Gunpla figs. I have wanted a PG Astray Red Frams ever since I saw it at Otakon a couple of years ago. I have the MG model, but the PG is just a whole other level. I am also looking to acquire the FAZZ kit, which has been elusive since I first saw it on Gundam Planet.

Anime DVD Deal of the Day

I did my daily rounds of the interwebs today and stopped by one of my favorite sites, RightStuf. I always come here for the Daily Deals. Today I found the Heaven’s Lost Property Season 2 Limited Edition. I may hafta snag this one and add it to the collection. I may also hafta pick up Soul Eater the Complete Series — and my daughter LOVES the robo flick Real Steel, so I may pick that one up as well.

Comic Book Fever

Over the passed couple of weeks, I have rediscovered a new/old obsession. My father gave me some old Amazing Spiderman and Spectacular Peter Parker comics from the 70’s up through the early 90’s. I contacted my main comic man, Steve, from Third Eye Comics and requested a suggestion for an iPad app that I can manage the collection in. He suggested the Collectorz Comic Book app. I picked it up from the iTunes store and i have been in heaven. The ability to track the collection and the information the app tracks is freakin’ awesome! I have even taken to the task of trying to fill in some of the holes in the issues.

I have also taken to the idea of picking up some titles that I think I may be interested in — although I have admitted to myself numerous times that I am much more of a manga fan than comics. Still, I’ll pay a visit to Steve on Black Friday and pick up come good reads. If you’re in the Annapolis area, you should do the same.

Well, I’m officially beat. My body is killing me and the days aren’t getting any longer. So have a good night and keep your hobby knife out of reach of suicidal children. Catch you next update!
